• Released in 2002, Akira Remix reimagines the legendary soundtrack to the 1988 anime film Akira, originally composed by Geinoh Yamashirogumi under the direction of Shoji Yamashiro (Tsutomu Oohashi). The remix album takes the groundbreaking original scorefamous for its fusion of gamelan percussion, Buddhist chant, experimental electronics and massive choral arrangementsand reshapes it with modern electronic production techniques. The result retains the ritualistic, hypnotic power of the original themes while introducing heavier rhythms, sharper digital textures and club-influenced beats that push the music into a darker, more futuristic territory.

Rather than simply updating the soundtrack, Akira Remix emphasizes the avant-garde spirit that made the original score so influential. Layers
