• Released in 1992, Amused to Death is Roger Waters dark and ambitious critique of media, war, and consumer culture. Taking inspiration from Neil Postmans book Amusing Ourselves to Death, the album presents a dystopian vision where television anesthetizes societys conscience. With cinematic production, extensive use of QSound spatial effects, and contributions from Jeff Beck on guitar, Waters crafts a dense, immersive experience. Tracks like What God Wants, Perfect Sense, and the haunting title track combine lyrical sharpness with sweeping arrangementsmaking it Waters most powerful solo statement since The Wall.
