• Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing, the debut album from Discharge originally released in 1982, is widely considered to be a defining statement of hardcore and punk in general. Coming on the back of several well recieved EP’s and singles, with this album Discharge laid down the blueprint for a new sound in punk rock.

  The songs are short, played at a constant high speed, abrasive and minimalist. Riffs were a near constant wall of ferocious strumming, aided by a constant, monotonous percussion that would become quickly known as d-beat. Lyrically Discharge were leftist in nature, dealing with anarchist and pacifist morals that, when coupled with Cold War era fear, created nihilistic and alienating themes.
