• What’s thrilling about this record is the unbelievable freshness of the band at that time, which comes across much more clearly on the live recordings (from 1977 -1979) than on the studio albums. The sound is as crystal clear as it is edgy, the band sounds fresh and spontaneous, David Byrne seems to sparkle with ideas.
The album – originally released in 1982 – impressively documents the band’s path from living room to worldwide fame. And this is an entertaining and exciting as well as witty journey and by the way, one of the most praised live records in rock history.
