- "Astral Weeks" is the second solo album of the Northern Irish musician Van Morrison, with which the former Them singer continued his solo career after the dissolution of the band.
The eight-song record was recorded in just two days in September and October 1968 at Century Sound Studios in New York. Van Morrison was supported by guitarist Jay Berliner, bassist Richard Davis, percussionist Warren Smith and drummer Connie Kay. It's the first album the singer produced for Warner Brothers.
"Astral Weeks" is a mixture of folk, blues and jazz. It is not one of the most successful Van Morrison albums, but it has achieved cult status with its fans to this day.Review
