• Born in Haiti in 1992 and now living in Montreal, Kaytranada has been active as a producer and DJ since the age of 14. The trigger for his musical career was his brother. When he was shown studio software, all his inhibitions fell: “After he showed me the basics, from that day on I couldn’t stop making beats.” Good for us, because that’s how singles like “Drive Me Crazy” with Vic Mensa and “Leave Me Alone” with Shay Lia as well as remixes for Pharrell Williams, Missy Elliott and Janet Jackson came into being.

  In other words, releases with which Kaytranada created an urban trademark sound between electro, house, R&B and hip-hop, characterized by inimitable swing drums, soulful melodies and funky basslines. After numerous small releases his debut album “99.9%” follows this tradition.
