- “Ummagumma” is the fourth long player by Pink Floyd. Originally, the record was already released in October 1969.
This is also the band’s first double album, consisting of a live and a studio part. The live recordings were made at two concerts at the College of Commerce in Manchester and at the Mother’s Club in Cambridge.
During the recording of the studio part Pink Floyd used a not quite common approach. Each of the four band members had a quarter of the LP at their disposal for their own recordings. This resulted in Roger Waters’ folk ballad “Grantchester Meadows” and Gilmour’s three-part psychedelic rock piece “The Narrow Way”, among others.
