• The House Of Love – guitarist and singer Guy Chadwick, lead guitarist Terry Bickers, bassist Chris Groothuizen and drummer Pete Evans – formed in London in 1986. Chadwick had already been working in the music industry for several years, but was inspired to form the band by a performance by The Jesus And Mary Chain.

  Their single “Shine On” and their self-titled debut album became indie disco classics. by 1989, the band was a big deal and signed with Fontana, part of the PolyGram Group.

  The touring and promotion for The House Of Love took its toll and lead guitarist Terry Bickers left the group and was replaced by Simon Walker.
