Its A Beautiful Place opens with zero-gravity instrumental One Small Step a fitting prelude for what is one giant leap for New York duo Water From Your Eyes. The album is a gleaming megalopolis, a satellite view of eras and musical forms, a reframing of the y2k songbook that is at once awe-struck and mindful of its place in the vastness. It ended up being about time, dinosaurs and space, says Nate Amos. We wanted to present a wide range of styles in a way that acknowledges everythings just a tiny blip.

The duo recorded the bulk ofIts A Beautiful Place last summer, just as they have every other WFYE release: in Amoss bedroom. But this time, much of the writing and recording were shaped around the dynamics of a full-blooded live group: When youre playing with a band you tend to write with one in mind - this was the first time I wrote anything for WFYE imagin

Its A Beautiful Place is a vibrant and adventurous record by Water From Your Eyes, released on August 22, 2025 via Matador Records. Over the course of its ten tracks, the album blends existential themescosmic insignificance, hope, meaningwith a rich, experimental sonic palette. The duo, Rachel Brown and Nate Amos, lean into guitar more heavily here than on past releases, yet still maintain their characteristic mix of noise, ambient interludes, shifting time signatures, and playful lyrics. The album moves between moments of raw energy and quieter reflection, offering an experience that feels both emotionally charged and intellectually curious.
Structurally, Its A Beautiful Place tightens its form. Clocking in under 30 minutes, it balances full-band dynamics with bedroom-produced texture
