• “English Settlement” was released 18 months after “Black Sea”, which was the longest break between two albums of the band to date, and fully lived up to the expectations of the band. Due to health problems of Andy Partridge the tour for the album had to be cancelled and so the album is considered as the last exclamation mark of XTC as a live band.
  Sound engineer John Dent has cut the new masters for this 200 gram vinyl edition from the recently recovered original 1/2 inch tapes. An album that set the standard for sound in 1982 sounds even better today.
  Originally issued as a now out of print deluxe 2 LP set, this issue is the fifth in a series of 200 gram vinyl releases now available alongside Black Sea, Skylarking, Apple Venus and Wasp Star. More releases are planned over the next year.
